Financial innovation, technology advances and social changes are sending shockwaves through the financial services industry. In an age of increasingly rapid change, important questions, debates and developments are unfolding before our eyes. These ideas, and the choices we make in response to them, will shape our future. Technology is vastly powerful, creating new industries in response to – or sometimes in anticipation of – changing customer expectations. Rebank explores the trends, developments and challenges that define our age and shape the future role of money, banking and financial services.

Today, we're thrilled to be joined by not one but three guests from BBVA, a bank setting the pace for innovation among incumbents. We connected with BBVA as part of their Open Talent Competition. Last week in London, BBVA held the Fintech for Companies track final, one of three main streams in the 2017 Open Talent Competition. The event was put on in conjunction with our good friends at Innovate Finance.

In this episode, we'll hear from Mario Pardo, Head of Client Solutions at BBVA, Carmela Gomez, Head of Global Treasury Solutions, and Marisol Menendez, Head of Open Innovation. All three share fascinating insight about the way BBVA thinks about innovation, how they've created a forward-thinking culture, and why openness is crucial to the future of banking.
