Benedetta Arese Lucini is the co-founder of Oval Money, an app helping people save more and improve their financial lives.

Prior to starting Oval Money, Benedetta ran Uber in Italy, launching it in that country and running it for three years. And what a journey that was. We get into that experience, which is mind blowing.

In addition to her interest in tech and fintech, Benedetta is an advocate for political reform and women's rights in Italy and a radio broadcaster.

It was a blast catching up with Benedetta and getting into some of her personal story.

Let us know what you think of today's episode. Tweet at us @rebankpodcast or connect on LinkedIn or Facebook.

Thank you very much for joining us today. Please welcome, Benedetta Arese Lucini.

Alessandro Hatami is the former Group Innovation Director at Lloyds Banking Group and current Managing Partner at Forestreet.

Alessandro bring a grown-up view to fintech. Working closely with incumbents on fintech strategy, he has great insight into the way larger players are positioning themselves in a changing FS landscape. Today, we get into what big tech players are likely to do with regards to banking, and what that means for banks.

I assure you the conversation itself is much more interesting than this intro, which with references to banks and banking sounds pretty dull. Maybe big tech will do away with banking as we know it and get rid of the term all together. We'll see.

This topic is so ripe for debate. Will financial services survive the arrival of social media giants? Let us know on Twitter @rebankpodcast.

Thank you very much for joining us today. Please welcome, Alessandro Hatami.

Scalable employs over 50 people in offices in Munich and London.

I think this is one of the most interesting conversions we've ever had on the show. It's a bit long, but it's highly worth listening to through to the end. Ella drove this discussion across a range of topics, including raising a 30m Euro round from Blackrock, what she learned in 8 years at McKinsey, what we can do to address the gender imbalance in the workplace, and what the future of investing will look like.

We've gotten some great feedback from you guys the audience over the past few weeks, which is helping us shape upcoming episodes. Keep getting in touch. Email us at rebank@bankingthefuture.com with ideas or just to introduce yourself. We love hearing from you.

Special thanks to Innovate Finance for connecting us with Ella. We're hugely appreciative of everything they do for fintech in London.

Welcome back after a week off last week - our first in a year. Wow. Hope everyone's having some fun this summer.

We've got some amazing guests lined up over the next few months, so stay tuned for that. We're increasingly active in our newsletter lately - if you'd like to be a part of that, you can subscribe on our website at www.bankingthefuture.com.

Today, we've got one for the entrepreneurs. We've had some great episodes with venture capitalists and founders going through the most interesting opportunities their seeing, ideas about areas of fintech ripe for further innovation, startup advice and more.

We're pulling all of that together in one place in a nod to our founder and aspiring founder listeners, of which there are many. A lot of the questions that come up most often in our community are around turning concepts into action. One of our core tenants at Rebank is that its delivery that matters. The discussion and analysis of high level ideas and trends are part of the work that takes place around and in support of execution, but with no action, the reflection is only so relevant.

Today, we hear from a number of past guests, including Michael Kent of Azimo, Steve Lemon of CurrencyCloud, Nigel Verdon of Railsbank, Alex Macpherson of Octopus Ventures, Carolina Brochado of Atomico, Michael Treskow of Eight Roads, Ameya Upadhyay of Omidyar, Charlie Delingpole of ComplyAdvantage and Aman Ghei of Orange Growth Capital.

Today we look at the opportunity in wealth management software, leveraging tech to provide automated personalized financial management to the masses. Let us know what you think of today's format. If you guys like it, we'll get some more VCs on in the future and do it again.
